We have heard great teachings on Faith. Faith honours God, God honours Faith. Wherever you find God, faith put him there. Without Faith, it is impossible to please God. These all are undoubtedly true. However, little is been said about the damaging effect of fears and worries. You’ve been lied to that your future looks bleak considering your circumstances and challenges. Even the presently successful ones are afraid that things may take a negative turn. Your fears are the liars! Most times, the things we fear never really would have happened, but our worries and fear bring them to pass.
Just like faith is a positive energy, fear is a negative energy. When we are in fear, we worry, and worry is a magnet that attracts negative conditions. Never make a decision based on fear, and never fear to make a decision. Look into the future with high hopes, believe that God brought you out of the odds to take you into his promised land of bliss. I read a sad story about Ron Wayne, one of the original co-founders of Apple Corporation – a company that started in 1, April 1976.
Ron Wayne, Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak were the original Apple founders. Wayne actually designed the Company’s original logo which has since evolved into what we have come to know as the forbidden fruit that looks like Adam and Eve took a bite of. Wayne also wrote the original Apple manual and drew up the start-up company’s partnership agreement.
Wayne was actually set up for financial success and the original agreement gave him a 10% ownership stake in Apple, a company which today is worth $945 billion – almost a trillion dollars. Wayne position from that agreement would have been worth some tens of billions of dollars today. But his fears got in the way. He was afraid that Jobs wild spending and Wozniak life of bling would cause Apple to flop. Wayne, the oldest of the three stepped down from his role of being the “mature one” in the bunch. He took a bite out of the Apple and left the company after only 11 days of its existence. Why was Wayne more worried than the duo of Jobs and Wozniak? Because he was the only one with assets that creditors could seize; so he sold back his own shares for $800. Yes! You heard me right, just $800. Sadly today, Wayne is worth only $300 thousand dollars – all because of the fear of uncertain future.
When you are ruled by fear, you’ll find yourself unable to make the very changes that will eliminate that fear. An old man was asked what had robbed him of joy in his life. He said, the things he feared which never happened. Work hard toward an enviable future. Believe that as you move towards that future, it approaches you too. Take doubt out. I hear people say, “giving the benefit of doubt.” Please understand that doubt has no benefit. Every time the fear of the unknown wants to get in the way, say like David, “When I am afraid O LORD Almighty, I put my trust in you. I trust in God and am not afraid. I praise Him for what he has promised. What can a mere human being do to me” (Psalms 56:3-4 GNT).
